What is Sport Management & RecreationAL Therapy

The Department of Sport Management & Recreational Therapy is dedicated to preparing the next generation of recreation and sport professionals. Rooted in recreation as a powerful force for individual and community well-being, the department offers a rigorous education enriched by experiential learning, research, and community engagement. 

The department has proudly maintained accreditation through the Council on Accreditation of Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professions (COAPRT) since 1981

Students gain extensive hands-on experience, completing more than 600 hours of practicum, internships, and projects with partners such as the City of Greensboro, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, Greensboro Sports Foundation, the National Park Service, and the Boys & Girls Clubs. 

The Department of Sport Management & Recreational Therapy is a part of the School of Health and Human Sciences.

ACCELERATED MASTERS PROGRAM

In the accelerated program, students have the opportunity to graduate with a bachelor of science AND master of science degree in Sport Management and Recreational Therapy, within a 5-year time period.
