GRADUATE DEGREES

The department offers a Master of Science in Sport Management and Recreational Therapy.

Students choose from two concentrations:

  • Recreation and Sport Management
  • Recreational Therapy

We also offer an Accelerated Master’s Program for our Bachelor of Science students in Sport Management and Recreational Therapy.

Undergraduate students can also apply for the Accelerated Master’s Program if they are pursuing our Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and Recreational Therapy.

M.S. DEGREE IN Sport Management and Recreational Therapy, Recreation and Sport Management Concentration

Students who choose to focus on Recreation and Sport Management within the Master of Science in Sport Management and Recreational Therapy degree are prepared to plan, implement, market, evaluate, and manage recreational programs and events.

An emphasis is placed on the application of recreation, park, and leisure services to enhance health, wellness, and quality of life among individuals and communities.

M.S. Sport Management and Recreational Therapy, Recreational Therapy

Graduates of the program are prepared to enter professional practice as licensed recreational therapists in active treatment, leisure education, transitional treatment, and community-based leisure service delivery systems in psychiatric, rehabilitation, geriatric, corrections, schools, long-term care, adult day care, community inclusion, and pediatric and child life medical settings.

Accelerated Master’s Program (AMP)

In the Accelerated Master’s Program in Sport Management and Recreational Therapy, students have the opportunity to graduate with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree, within a 5-year period.
